'I found myself in a Polyamorous Relationship with Life'

"Love love, not the man, for you will be in his power."

This line from Dangerous Beauty is spoken by the mother of a soon-to-be courtesan as she teaches her daughter the so-called tricks of the trade. It comes as both guidance and warning as she prepares her to step into the arms of a powerful and desirable man for the night.

At the time I watched this movie, I was deeply immersed in energetic work rooted in Taoist practices, specifically designed for the female body. These practices focus on cultivating space within the energetic body to expand one’s capacity to receive and hold more. Imagine holding a container filled to the brim with water. Someone comes along with the purest mountain spring water from Fiji, offering to pour some into your container, but because it is already full, anything added simply spills over.

Now, imagine that container within your body, specifically the womb. In Taoist practice, men visualise this space as the Dan Tian, the body's energetic centre. Now, imagine there was a way to digest that water, creating space for more. With each cycle of receiving and integrating, the container expands, allowing you to hold even more the next time. This is the essence of the practice, continuously cultivating the capacity to receive, process, and expand.

The result of this practice is an immense capacity to receive. When a woman expands her ability to receive, she becomes a walking, breathing, magnetic force, effortlessly attracting everything she desires—love, money, attention, power, joy, and opportunity.

When I began practicing this nearly two years ago, I noticed a profound shift. I found myself falling in love with love itself. Suddenly, everything became erotic, not in a purely sexual sense but in the way life itself felt charged, alive, and rich with sensation. I became drawn to Nobuyoshi Araki’s photography, his provocative and intimate imagery speaking to something I now deeply understood, the art of seeing the erotic in everything.

I had made a profound discovery that echoed the wisdom of the courtesan’s mother in Dangerous Beauty: the distinction between love and the beloved. This realisation transformed my relationships with men in ways I never expected. I understood that loving love itself was far more erotic, powerful, and independent than tying it to any one person.  Love was everywhere, endlessly available, and I was simply learning to receive it. In this shift, I found myself in a polyamorous relationship with life itself, a revelation that eased the pressure on my primary relationship, opened me to deeper love from the world, and unlocked a personal power and joy that I could access at will simply by turning on my receiving radar.

I invite you to take a lesson from the courtesans of old as they understood love in ways few do today.

Through The Way of the Courtesan, my coaching program, you will learn how to reclaim your power in love, fall in love with love again, attract the kind of man you desire, and establish a fulfilling and magnetic dynamic in your relationships. Are you ready to step into this new way of being?
